J2 festival last minute questions…

Parking at the venue:When you drive in the main entrance road to Gunstock you will see a sign directing you toward nordic parking and a drop off zone.  Please respect the drop off zone for what it is and help keep the traffic moving.  There is no unloading/drop off or pick up allowed on the main entrance road because of the downhill ski traffic coming and going.

Banquet tickets for parents:  Each team will be given a certain number of tickets to the banquet that they can sell to parents.  The cost for these will be $23 and will be payable to GNA by the team leaders.  So…if you want to go to the banquet let your team leader know!  If your team runs out, ask around – some teams may not use them all!

The weather:  Probably everyone is watching Mother Nature to see what she has planned for our weekend!  Keep in mind that we do have tents for the athletes to stay dry in or to eat and hang out in.  We are not supplying wax tents for the teams….your team needs to bring their own tent for waxing!  (GNA has a stockpile of snow, so don’t worry about that!)

Food concession:GNA is using the Yurt next to the cross country center to host a food concession as a club fundraiser!!   Select from hot/cold drinks, sandwiches, soups, stews, baked goods, fruit and all kinds of other selections.  The food concession will be open all day on Saturday!  On Sunday we will only serve breakfast type of food ~ coffee, tea, bagels, donuts or maybe coffee cake.

Website information:If you haven’t visited the GNA website already….check out the J2 link there to find course maps, a map of local restaurants, and the 3-day schedule!   www.gunstocknordic.com

Volunteers:  We would love to have more volunteers….email us at gunstocknordic@msn.com if you know you can help at anytime during the 3 days!  You can volunteer, watch….and get free goodies at the volunteer feeding station ~ how can that be beat?

Of interest: Gunstock Mountain Resort has a cross country center that is stocked with anything you might forget!  Any parents or friends that wish to ski the recreational trails should stop in there to purchase their tickets please.  Gunstock also has a tubing hill, a new “Big Air Bag” for tricksters, and snowshoe trails.
