Try Ski Orienteering with Jim Arsenault
Jim Arsenault from Up North Orienteers will be running a low-key orienteering race from the GNA clubhouse on Sunday, January 22 with starts from 9:00 am – noon. All are invited to come and give it a try. GNA members will receive a $5 discount of the race fee and no pre-registration is required.
All race participants get a map of the trail network that shows the locations of a series of control flags that you ski to in the designated order while on the clock. Which trail you take to get from control to control is up to you. Racers start individually, normally 2 or more minutes apart, so you’re navigating on your own. Instruction and a short sample course will be available.
Multiple courses will be offered, with different course lengths and degrees of navigation difficulty offered.
